China's "Most Loved" Outdoor Gear Brands (CCID Intelligence)

As of April 2025, the CCID Research Institute's "Most Loved" top ten list includes: Arc'teryx, The North Face, Columbia, KAILAS, Jack Wolfskin, Toread, Mammut, Mobi Garden, Patagonia, and Camel. The ranking reflects broad outdoor product appeal rather than alpine boot sales; cross-referencing with e-commerce bestseller lists for jackets, Camel and PiccARD (Berghaus) skew toward transaction volume, while Arc'teryx and KAILAS lean more on professional reputation.

Domestic climbing-focused: the Kailas line

According to Southern Metropolis Daily reporting, after Kailas cut its casual lines, it pivoted to mountaineering, trail running, and rock climbing, sponsoring climbing teams from multiple countries. Its hardshell jackets typically retail around ¥2,000–3,000, with some high-end models exceeding ¥10,000. In 2025, it made the Tmall Double 11 outdoor sales top five for the first time. In overseas gear tests, La Sportiva, Scarpa, Petzl, and Black Diamond appear more often for alpine boots and harnesses—the division of labor between domestic brands and international technical gear makers roughly boils down to two narratives: "domestic professional image" versus "international hardware/footwear benchmarks."

How to choose

For snowline climbing and crampon compatibility, start with La Sportiva and Scarpa alpine boot lines. For harnesses and ice/mixed hardware, Petzl and Black Diamond are the editorial default. For lightweight alpine packs, look at Arc'teryx; for big crag packs, Black Diamond and Osprey are common picks. Domestically, if you want a Chinese brand with a complete climbing narrative, Kailas is the one most frequently cited by the media.
