Top Automotive Brands Ranking
A breakdown of the Brand Finance Automobiles 2026 Top 10, growth in rankings for BYD and Geely, Interbrand's automotive-related brands, and Focus2Move's 2026 H1 group registration share, with comparisons and a draggable template.

How the rankings work
Data as of 2026-08-06Automaker rankings are usually split across three tracks: brand value in Brand Finance Automobiles, automotive positions in the Interbrand overall table, and global registration share by group from Focus2Move. The brand with the highest value and the one selling the most cars are often not the same name — Toyota ranks near the top on both tracks, while Tesla and BYD line up more clearly against each other in the electric-vehicle narrative.

The top ten is still dominated by German, Japanese, U.S., and South Korean brands; the rise of Chinese brands is mainly visible outside the top ten.
Beyond the top ten: BYD, Geely, Leapmotor
BYD's brand value is roughly $17.3 billion (up about 23%), lifting it to No. 11 among global automotive brands, with its strength rating upgraded to AA+. Geely sits at roughly $4.5 billion (up about 26%), around No. 22. Leapmotor (Zhejiang Leapmotor) is valued at roughly $1 billion (up about 67%) and is named one of the fastest-growing automotive brands heading into 2026.
