Worlds 2025 Preview: Experts' Top 20

Sheep polled 12 players / casters / coaches.Chovy 234/240 — nearly unanimous first-place votes, followed by teammates Ruler and Kiin, plus BLG's Knight. On T1's side, Oner, Zeus, Keria, and Faker all made the list, but Faker landed at No. 20 — the season's ups and downs are reflected in the ballots.

Results: MSI and Worlds

Mid-year MSI (Vancouver, prize pool ~$2 million):Gen.G defeated T1 to take the title, with Finals MVP going to Chovy. At year-end Worlds (China, $5 million prize pool):T1 won again, beating KT in the final, and Finals MVP was Gumayusi; the team took home about $1 million, while KT earned roughly $800,000 as runners-up. Gen.G had three or four players ranked in the top tier of expert ballots, but that couldn't translate into the Summoner's Cup—the trophy stayed with T1.

LCK Awards 2025 (Dec. 19)

The Korean region’s year-end honors combine domestic and international results.Bdd(KT) took Player of the Year; the positional awards went to: top laner Kiin, jungler Oner, mid laner Chovy, ADC Gumayusi, and support Keria. Chovy still earned the strongest mid-lane vote of the year, but the Player of the Year nod went to Bdd, who led his team to the finals—worth comparing against Sheep’s pre-tournament ballot and the Worlds outcome.

Prize Money Context (2025)

According to Esports Earnings, each of Gen.G's five players (Chovy / Ruler / Canyon / Kiin / Duro) took home roughly $220,000 the same amount—mostly from international event payouts like MSI, while the Worlds champion prize went to T1. LoL players rarely crack the top 15 on the all-time cross-game earnings list, so don't use that to compare "who makes more" against CS2 or fighting game pros.
